Safety radio remote controls for mobile hydraulic applications

Autec Safety Remote Controls has recently introduced the FJR transmitter of its radio remote control Dynamic series for mobile hydraulic applications. It is suitable in particular for hydraulic cranes, aerial work platforms and concrete pumps.

THE TRANSMITTER MAY BE MATCHED with one of the three receivers in the series, all of them providing CANopen interface. The communication protocol is based on CiA 401 (CANopen device profile for I/Os) and enables the radio remote control system to be integrated in a CANopen network as an NMT slave.

A 2,7-inch graphic display is available with LCD or OLED technology, for optimal visualization in outdoor or indoor applications. Information to be displayed on the screen is sent to the receiving unit via the CAN bus; the receiving unit takes care of sending the information to the transmitting unit via radio link. Display refresh rate can be as low as 300 ms.

All Dynamic series receivers also provide redundant and monitored outputs for the Stop and the UMFS (protection from unintended movements from standstill) safety functions. TÜV SÜD has certified the series for functional safety. The Stop safety function complies with requirements of EN ISO 13849-1 PL “e” (performance level), Cat. 4 and EN IEC 62061 SIL 3 (safety integrity level). The UMFS safety function provides on its side PL “d”, Cat. 3 and SIL 2.
