The Onesubsea company by Cameron and Schlumberger has received an order from Chevron to supply subsea equipment for the Rosebank development in the North Sea. This includes vertical monobore subsea trees with retrievable process modules, 6-slot manifolds, and production control systems. Some of the equipment uses CANopen connectivity compliant with CiA 443 (SIIS level-2).
ONESUBSEA, A JOINT COMPANY ESTABLISHED in June 2013, has received its first big order. Chevron's purchase includes project management, design, procurement, manufacture, testing, tooling, spares, installation and commissioning, and start up. Deliveries are expected to start in 2014. Cameron and Schlumberger share 60/40 ownership of Onesubsea, respectively. Cameron is a provider of flow equipment products, systems and services to the oil, gas and process industries. Schlumberger is a supplier of technology, integrated project management, and information solutions to customers working in the oil and gas industry.
Cameron Chairman, President and CEO, Jack B. Moore said, "This is an exciting time for Cameron as we now have the opportunity to further expand our subsea business through Onesubsea. Our near term focus is on the execution of plans that have been laid out in recent months while continuing to deliver the highest levels of quality and safety in our product and service offerings." Schlumberger CEO Paal Kibsgaard commented, "We are extremely pleased to complete the creation of Onesubsea with Cameron. We are now uniquely positioned to optimize complete subsea production systems and help our customers improve production and recovery from their subsea developments."
Onesubsea supports the SIIS level-2 CANopen interfaces (also known as CiA 443) in their products. The Phasewatcher flow-meter for example provides an optional CANopen interface. It measures oil, gas, and water flow rates without prior separation. It has no moving parts, making it essentially maintenance-free - an important feature in subsea applications. The company also offers multiphase pumps with CANopen connectivity. It can be configured with up to 28 hydraulic functions.
