CAN in Automation (CiA) has scheduled several CAN 2020 webinars. The three-session events are intended for device and system designers.
This year, CiA organizes webinars that provide an overview about the current status as well as trends in CAN-based networking. These webinars are all about the future of CAN FD and CANopen FD. They cover basic technical information on CAN FD, the impact of CAN FD on CAN-based higher-layer protocols (e.g. such as CANopen, J1939, etc.), latest trends on the physical layer design (e.g. partial networking, bit-timing in CAN FD, etc.), as well as system design aspects.
The CAN 2020 webinars are scheduled in a way that interested parties from America, Asia, and Europe can attend them at a reasonable local time. Each webinar is structured to three 90-min sessions at three days in a row. Session one deals with the CAN FD protocol and the physical layer design. The second session discusses CANopen FD, a higher-layer protocol dedicated for embedded control solutions. Compared to Classic CANopen, CANopen FD provides new communication functions such as the broadcast protocol for segmented messages. The third session is about CAN FD in future network architectures. The Webex-based sessions are “live” meaning that after and during the presentation questions and answers are possible. The webinars are free-of-charge, but you need to register.
