“Let us meet online“

To meet at the CAN in Automation (CiA) booth on exhibitions is an important discussion forum for the CAN community. Due the postponement and cancellation of tradeshows other options need to be considered and offered.

A very few days before the start of the SPS tradeshow in Nuremberg (Germany), the organizers canceled the exhibition. In the last 18 months, several fairs and conferences were postponed, for example, the Agritechnica 2020, the Interlift 2021, as well as the Innotrans 2020. CiA had planned to participate as usual at the SPS tradeshow.

Reiner Zitzmann, CEO of CiA, said: “We were keen on meeting developers, decision makers, and sales people again on-site and to keep the social network of CAN experts vivid and growing. Unfortunately, the coronavirus stroke back and makes in the current situation, personal meetings inappropriate, and tradeshows such as the SPS just not possible.”

In times of the Covid-19 pandemic and the challenging circumstances, CiA provides also other direct communication with CAN interested parties. Besides the established CiA email services and CiA’s social media channels (Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Youtube), there is the opportunity to schedule individual online meetings. There, it is possible, to discuss specific topics in detail like on a fairground. CiA provides this service (CiA’s open discussion forum) on every Friday until the end of this year from 11:00 to 12:30 UTC+1.
