Impressions from the Conexpo

The Conexpo tradeshow is the most important fair for construction and mining machines as well as other mobile machines in North America. Some 130000 visitors came to Las Vegas (Nevada) to see heavy-duty equipment: toys for big boys. About 31000 came from abroad.

“THE ENTHUSIASM AND TRAFFIC ON THE SHOWFLOOR was just incredible. Exhibitors cited the high quality of attendees; they told us these were serious buyers and reported robust sales to existing as well as new customers that exceeded their expectations,” stated Megan Tanel, the Conexpo show director. The CiA members exhibiting in Las Vegas were also satisfied with the quantity and quality of visitors. Saturday was the only disappointing day.

The upper level of the South Hall was the home of electronics and hydraulics. Most of the CiA members exhibited in this hall, except Moba (Central Hall) and Hirschmann (outdoor area). Unfortunately, the CiA booth was on the lower level of the South Hall. Nevertheless, there were many visitors interested in J1939 and CANopen. One of the most interesting topics was functional safety.
