Charging communication in Chinese

The Chinese standard specifies a 250-kbit/s bit-rate by default. The usage of the CAN identifier bits is compliant with J1939-21. However, the GB/T 27930 standard differs in some aspects from J1939. As a result, parameter groups for address-claiming, commanded address, and name management are not defined. In addition, the standard uses the same DM1 through DM6 and maps the information on arising problems into DTC blocks as described in J1939-73, but the function and PGNs are specified differently.

The article provides a detailed description of the Chinese standard. This includes the communication necessary for the charging procedure and the messages transmitted during energy transfer. Vector provides tools to test the protocol implementation. Based on the CANoe simulation tools, the company has developed a software package, which can simulate either the charging station or the battery management system (BMS) of the e-vehicle. The tool is responsible for the creation of test scripts using a C-like syntax (CAPL) and for checking test reports.
