During 3-days plugfest there was performed about 3200 tests. The experts tested their Isobus products on interoperability. Isobus is the tradename of ISO 11783-compliant devices. In parallel to the plugfest, several AEF technical groups met to improve existing specifications and to standardize new functions.

In Bologna, AEF celebrated its 10th anniversary. During the birthday dinner Jaap van Bergeijk and Rudi Buschmeier were presented with special plaques to thank them for their contribution to the AEF as Team Leaders of PT1 and PT3 respectively.

Several ISO 11783 documents are currently under review and will be released as new editions. These include the physical layer (ISO 11783-2) and the application layer (ISO 11783-3). The network management (ISO 11783-5) will follow, soon. The CAN-based approach is based on J1939-21 and an ISO 11898-2 based physical layer.

The 8th TIM plugfest took place in parallel to the general Isobus plugfest. The Tractor Implement Management specification is software that enables an implement, such as a baler, to automatically control specific functions, such as the forward speed or wrapping.
