Technosoft (Switzerland) has added a member to its iPOS family of drives: the iPOS4808 MY. It embeds motor control functions, as well as motion control and PLC features, into a plug-in module.
THE DRIVE IS EQUIPPED WITH CAN, CANopen (CiA 301 V 4.2 and CiA 402 V 3.0), and optionally Ethercat interfaces. CAN comes with bit-rates up to 1 Mbit/s. The product provides a solution that is adapted to the decentralized / coordinated control of rotary or linear brushless, DC brush or step motors of powers up to 400 W, with a 50 V nominal voltage. For high-end positioning applications, the drive supports dual-loop feedback configuration, as well as on-board interfaces for BiSS/SSI encoders. A faster Motion Chip processor, together with larger program and data memory than its predecessors, allow the drive to offer control algorithms including multiple bi-quad filters for improved motion trajectory with resonance rejection. Autotuning setup routines are under development for rapid commissioning of any motor from the various technologies supported.
The drive setup, tuning and motion programming are made with Easy Motion Studio and Technosoft Motion Language (TML). The drive is programmable at user’s level. In systems that request a host, the iPOS drives operates as an intelligent slave executing motion sequences triggered by input lines or commands received via EIA-232, CAN, or Ethercat communication. Advanced positioning profiles like the PVT or electronic camming, I/O and program flow control, data transfer between axes, subroutines, ISRs and multiple homing modes facilitate the motion application implementation task.
