Drives with optional CANopen or Profinet

At the SPS IPC Drives, Danfoss (Germany) presents the VLT Midi Drive FC 280, the evolution of the VLT 2800 drive. It comes with optional CANopen.

THE DRIVE WILL BE AVAILABLE at the end of 2015 and will begin to step by step succeed the VLT 2800. The drive comes with a power range of 0,37 kW up to 22 kW and will be issued as first step in versions from 0,37 kW to 7,5 kW in 200 V / 400 V, the other drives will be launched beginning mid of 2016. It is fulfilling IE 2 according to the EN 50598.

For motor control for machine builders in the food and beverage, material handling, and processing industries, the VLT Midi Drive is an option. According to the company, the drive is strong on control performance, functional safety, and flexible fieldbus communication. The first launched drives will have optional CANopen or Profinet, later on followed by Ethernet IP and Profibus. The company says, the right mix of features ensures the drive to suit the user’s tasks, whether for conveyor systems, mixers, and packaging systems or driving pumps, fans, and compressors. The drive provides connectors, integrated DC-coils, RFI filter, and dual channel STO functional safety.
