CANopen variable frequency drives

Eaton (USA/Germany) introduced PowerXL variable frequency drives DC1 compact and the DA1 advanced machinery drive (for up to 250 kW) that are incorporated in SmartWire-DT connection and communication technology supporting CANopen.

DC1 AND DA1 ARE SPECIFIED TO HAVE A RATING from 0,37 kW to 11 kW and from 0,75 kW to 250 kW respectively. The drives support single-phase and three-phase voltage inputs of 115 V, 230 V and 400/480 V. The devices come with CANopen and Modbus RTU interfaces as standard. Other systems such
as DeviceNet, Profibus, Profinet, EthernetIP, Ethercat, Modbus TCP and Bacnet can also be connected via fieldbus modules. The drives use Smartwire-DT communication system that allows them to send control commands to the frequency inverters and read diagnostic data from them.
The drives are provided with self-explanatory codes, auto-tune functionality and parameterization (14 standard parameters). Users can copy the parameter settings via Bluetooth PC stick with a RJ45 interface.
DC1 operates the motor at 150 % of the rated power for 60 seconds and 175 % for two seconds. The IP55-protected DA1 offers sensorless vector control (SLV) and closed-loop control with a rotary encoder. It moves from rest to 200 % torque in SLV mode without the use of an encoder. It also supports the standard three-phase motors with the current IE2 and IE3 motor efficiency standards and the permanent magnet motors, which are designed for IE4 standard.
