Scalable multicore platform

Sintecs’ SES-MX6D and SES-MX6Q system on modules offer a scalable multicore platform. They support single-, dual-, and quad-core families based on the ARM Cortex-A9 architecture.

THE SOM WAS DEVELOPED FOR INDUSTRIAL and automotive applications. The processing capabilities of the ARM Cortex-A9 architecture are combined with 2D and 3D graphics and high-definition video. This provides the series with a level of multimedia performance enabling next-generation user experience. The SES-MX6D offers one CAN interface, and the SES-MX6Q two.

The i.MX Quad processor provides more performance at lower power. Freescale guarantees availability of the i.MX product family for at least 10 years. This allows for long-term planning of products with an i.MX processor inside. The module has an optional PCIe switch on-board when there is a need for more PCIe lanes on the carrier board. Technical details include up to 2 GiB DDR3L-800 memory and up to 64 GiB eMMC memory.

The SOMs come with a Board Support Package (BSP) for Linux. Sintecs also offers a Carrier Board for evaluation purposes. With the SOM, BSP, and the Carrier Board customers can immediately start developing applications without the need for application specific developed hardware. On request a BSP for other operating systems can be developed.

Sintecs was founded in 2000. It is an electronic design services and system on module development company based in Hengelo, the Netherlands. The range of the company’s services extends from the delivery and development of system on modules, assistance in the design of carrier boards, to the development of complete electronic designs.
