Measuring 20 mm x 50 mm x 4 mm, the Dart-MX6 from Variscite (Israel) is a small system-on-module. It supports Freescale’s i.MX6 quad and dual core Cortex-A9 processor.

TOGETHER WITH ITS POWER CONSUMPTION OF 3,7 V, this miniature-sized system-on-module (SoM) is suitable for portable and battery operated embedded systems. Its integrated connectivity includes dual band Wifi/BT with optional Mimo, dual USB, Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe, and A/V interfaces. It also supports other interfaces such as dual CAN, I2C, SPI, PWM, UART, and more. With its industrial operating temperature, the system functions between -40 °C to +85 °C. The Freescale i.MX6 features a 800 MHz Quad Core Cortex-A9 performance, a full HD 1080p video encoding/decoding capability, as well as a Vivante GPU (graphics processing unit) providing 2D/3D acceleration. As operating systems, the product provides Linux and Android.

The Dart-MX6 can be complemented with the company’s VAR-DT6-Custom-Board carrier board. This single-board-computer (SBC) can serve both as a development platform and as an end product. In conjunction with the Dart-MX6, it offers an even wider connectivity with additional interfaces such as: CAN, EIA-485, Gigabit Ethernet PHY, PCIe, LVDS, etc.
