The Box-PC comes in an IP40-rated aluminum extrusion and steel housing making it suitable for harsh environments. Moreover, the fanless embedded system supports a wide range of power supplies (9 VDC to 36 VDC). It is specified for a temperature range from -40 °C to +55 °C, and up to 3-G vibration endurance. Janney Lee from Axiomtek explained: “To reduce deployment time, this fanless yet noiseless embedded PC reserves space on its rear panel for customers to easily install additional I/O modules including CAN/CANopen module, LAN module, digital I/O module and COM module.”

The product features two DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM slots with a memory capacitance of up to 32 GiB. System integrators can take advantage of the local I/O module, which can provide quick and easy installation of an eight digital I/O channels, two COM ports, one Ethernet port, two USB 3.0 ports, and one CAN/CANopen interface. The controller features wireless communication capabilities with two internal PCI Express Mini Card slots and one SIM card slot. Additionally it provides four Gigabit-Ethernet ports.

The product is intended for cloud computing servers, multimedia applications, network video recorders (NVRs) for wayside/station surveillance systems, and factory automation applications. The Taiwanese manufacturer with offices in Germany and USA was established in 1990. The company managed by Bill Shen offers a broad range of industrial PCs, single-board computers, and ruggedized embedded systems. These controllers are used in transportation, medical, industrial automation, and some other industries including casino gambling platforms.
