The Taiwanese supplier announced a rugged in-vehicle computing platform. It comes in three variants: the Nuvo-7100VTC (low-profile chassis with a hot-swappable 2,5-inch HDD/ SSD tray), the Nuvo-7200VTC (single-slot with PCIe expansion), and the Nuvo-7250VTC (super-capacitor based with power back-up module).

The Nuvo-7100VTC is a fanless embedded controller designed for transportation applications. It supports 8 VDC to 35 VDC inputs with built-in ignition power control, wide-temperature operation, galvanic-isolated I/Os. Additionally, it comprises one hot-swappable HDD tray with RAID 0/1 support. The computer has an assortment of I/O ports with screw lock mechanism and plentiful internal expansion options. It offers up to eight 802.3at PoE+ ports to supply 25-W power to connected devices such as IP cameras. All connectors have screw-lock mechanisms. The interfaces include one isolated CAN, one 1-Gbit/s Ethernet, four USB 3.1 (Gen2), four USB 3.1 (Gen1), three video, and four serial ports. Additionally, by utilizing two M.2 and three mini-PCIe sockets, the computer can provide various wireless modules as well as additional CAN interfaces. The EN 50155-certifed (TX level) computer conforms also to the MIL-STD-810G (Method 514.6) vibration requirements.

The Nuvo-7200VTC in-vehicle controller comes in a patented single-slot PCIe cassette.The specifically designed heat-spreader conducts heat from the device to the surface of the cassette module to sustain a stable thermal condition within the Cassette module enclosure. Therefore, the computer is available to support various PCIe add-on cards with wide-range operation temperature from -40 °C to +70 °C.

The Nuvo-7250VTC computer uses the patented CAP energy management. It is supercapacitor-based and implements an uninterruptible power back-up module to prevent data loss during power outages. It maximizes back-up time during an unforeseen power outage event by monitoring energy consumption and estimates the time required for the system to shutdown. It can store 2500 Ws.
