The iDoor concept makes the box PCs particularly flexible, it applies a Mini PCIe card and a PCIe expansion chassis to offer a range of interfaces such as CAN via expansion modules. Customers can choose from more than 100 combinations - from fieldbus modules, sensors, communication via WLAN or mobile communications to the connection of displays and various peripheral devices.

Advantech’s ARK box PCs are available with ARK-1000, ARK-2000, and ARK-3000 product series. All the series can be customised and installed to meet a range of requirements. The company provides customization of SSD and memory as well as the creation of customer-specific images. They also offer consulting services for its customers in terms of adding the required interfaces with the iDoor concept and its implementation.

Advantech ARK-1000

The series measures 133,8 mm x 43,1 mm x 94,2 mm, can be installed in a temperature range from -30 °C to +70 °C, and can accommodate either a 2,5-inch HDD or SSD. Alternatively, storage expansion via mSATA is also possible. For expansion, MiniPCIe, M.2 and a SIM card slot for communication via wireless networks are available.

Advantech ARK-2000

This series is suitable for applications where a compact design and a range of interfaces is requested, explained the company. It is also suitable for more CPU-intensive applications than the low-power ARK-1000 series, as it can run a range of processors from Intel Atom CPUs to Intel Core CPUs.

The shock and vibration-resistant housing with dimensions of 265 mm x 69 mm x 133 mm offers HDMI, VGA, four USB, and two LAN interfaces, 2,5-inch HDD/SSD, mSATA and M.2 for storage. Due to the iDoor concept individual expansions are also available.

Advantech ARK-3500

The series is designed for environments with high performance and expansion requirements, said the company. It is based on the Intel Core processors of the i3, i5, or i7 series. In addition to SATA, the much higher performance NVMe technology is also supported. This enables to meet performance expectations in terms of storage. With PCI, PCIe x1/x4/x8/x16, miniPCIe, M.2, and a display module, the ARK-3500 series offers expansion options already at the factory. With iDoor, they can be extended even further.
