Computer-on-module with 2 GiB RAM

At the SPS IPC Drives Sontheim (Germany) presented the mSiEcomTCtt, a compact computer-on-module with various interfaces, amongst them one CAN and six USB. The module also features an Intel Atom processor.

THE EXTENDED TEMPERATURE REANGE OF of -40 °C to +85 °C, which is available in addition to the normal temperature range of 0 °C to +60 °C, makes the module suitable for harsh environments. The chip sets range from 600 MHz to 1,6 GHz. Depending on the requirements up to 2 GiB DDR2-800RAM can be used. Through this intensive tasks are possible with lower power consumption. The device also features onboard 10 Mbit to 1000 Mbit LAN. The CAN interface offers a maximum data-rate of 1 Mbit/s.

Because of its dimensions of 55 mm x 84 mm the module can be mounted as a piggy-back variant onto another PCB and it is suited for the development of small devices, especially for mobile embedded handheld systems.

The module can be combined with the company’s ePC, a modular embedded platform, which can be used as a CAN bus master or slave with CANopen master software, as a PLC with integrated I/Os, or as a signal processing center. The platform also features a galvanically isolated CAN interface according to DIN ISO 11898 and 1 GiB to 2 GiB RAM. Over its CFast interface the platform offers a data transfer speed of up to 3 Gbit/s. The device is protected by an IP20 metal housing for EMC protection and offers passive cooling.
