The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech has introduced the Apax-5620 controller featuring two CANopen interfaces. The programmable controller supports the Microsoft Visual Studio.
THE CONTROLLER IS EQUIPPED WITH Intel’s XScale PXA270 microprocessor (520 MHz) and runs the Windows CE operating system. It supports IEC 61131-3 programming languages, which are widely used for machine control purposes. The two isolated CANopen interfaces are compliant to CiA 301 and CiA 302 profiles. Additionally, the device provides two isolated EIA-485 serial ports. Other peripherals include USB and VGA circuitry as well as two 10/100-Mbit/s Ethernet interfaces.
The controller is intended for use in steel production monitoring systems, spinning and weaving machinery, factory automation as well as for tunnel and freeway monitoring systems. The device comes with 64 MiB of SDRAM and 32 MiB of flash memory. The CompactFlash slot may be used for storing larger amounts of data.
