Interface cable

Connecting NMEA 2000 to various bus systems

Victron Energy (Netherlands) offers a variety of CAN interfaces: an interface between the company’s bus system (VE.Bus) and NMEA 2000, a BMV to NMEA 2000 interface, and a VE.CAN to NMEA 2000 interface.

THE VE.BUS TO NMEA2000 (IEC 61162-3) INTERFACE drop cable connects a VE.Bus product, for example a Multi or Quattro, to a NMEA 2000 network. It transmits monitoring information, AC voltages and currents, DC voltages and currents, and the state. Other NMEA 2000 devices can also send commands to the VE.Bus product to turn it on or off, or change the input current limit.

The BMV to NMEA 2000 drop cable makes BMV information available to NMEA 2000 networks. Battery information such as voltage, current, and state of charge can be displayed on common purpose displays from other manufacturers which accept NMEA 2000 data.

The VE.CAN to NMEA 2000 cable connects a VE.CAN network to a NMEA 2000 network. All VE.CAN messages are available on the NMEA 2000 network and vice versa. It can also be used to connect a single VE.CAN product, for example a Blue-Solar MPPT 150/70 or Lynx Shunt VE.CAN, to a NMEA 2000 network.
