THE CAN INTERFACE PROVIDES BIT-RATES from 5 kbit/s up to 1 Mbit/s. The card has a separate galvanic isolation of up to 500 V for each CAN channel. For the operation of external devices, a 5-V supply on pin 9 of each D-Sub connector can be placed. The PCAN-PCI/104-Express Quad is only supplied via the 5-V line. The 5-V supply to the CAN connection can be connected through a solder jumper, e.g. for external bus converters. Device drivers are available for Windows 8.1, 7, Vista, and Linux.

PCAN-PCI/104-Express cards enable the connection of one, two, or four CAN busses to a PCI/104-Express system. Up to four cards can be stacked together. CAN is connected using a 9-pin D-Sub plug on the slot brackets supplied in accordance with CiA 102. The card is available as a single, dual, or four-channel version. The package is also supplied with the CAN monitor PCAN-View for Windows and the programming interface PCAN-Basic. The cards have an extended operating temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C.
