The Kunbus mGate gateway enables communication between different networks and systems. It converts all data that the target network can transfer. It omits non-transferrable data and adds necessary data for the new network.

WITH THE MGATE SERIES, THE GERMAN COMPANY has added a protocol converter to its program that can be attached to DIN rails and detached again by means of plug and play. The protocols themselves are located in compact modules, whose housings are just 22,5 mm x 101,4 mm x 115 mm in size. The modules are connected to a gateway via a jumper. The user can exchange the protocol modules to connect one network to another. Customized solutions are also possible. The gateways are equipped with an integrated web server; program parts are updated via FTP server. The maximum output of the series is 3 W; the voltage tolerance ranges from minus 15 % to plus 20 %.
The gateway can convert CANopen, Devicenet, Ethernet, Ethercat, Sercos, Modbus, CC-Link, and data from other networks. The modular system allows simple configuration of gateways by plug-in linkage or adaption by exchanging the module. By using a jumper, the user connects two protocols to a complete gateway.
