The IFB112 gateway by Axiomtek (Taiwan) is based on a 528-MHz Cortex-A7 processor. The product is designed for harsh environment applications.
The fanless IIoT gateway is equipped with the low- i.MX6UL system-on-chip (SoC) by NXP (formerly Freescale). It is suitable for applications including transportation, heavy-duty industrial use, smart factory, smart grid, etc. The gateway comes in an IP30-rated aluminum and steel enclosure and supports an operating temperature range from -40 °C to +70 °C as well as a voltage range of 9 VDC to 48 VDC. The product withstands vibration of up to 5 g. For system integrators with wireless communication needs, it provides one PCI Express Mini Card slot, one SIM card slot, and two internal antennas. It provides one serial port, two 100-Mbit/s Ethernet channel and one CAN interface. Additionally, the gateway features discrete I/O lines.
“Axiomtek’s IFB112 fanless embedded system is an optimal solution for minimizing the cost and effort required for building industrial IoT applications. The IIoT gateway controller utilizes an industrial-temperature grade SoC with lower heat output and lower power consumption for using in unconstrained thermal environments. The IFB112 meets Safety Agency requirements and has passed heavy industrial CE and FCC Part 18 testing,” said Jessie Wu, Axiomtek’s product manager.
The DIN-rail mountable gateway comes with one 256-MiB DDR3 onboard memory and one 4-GiB flash memory. The product measures 31 mm x 100 mm x 125 mm, Besides the above-mentioned interfaces, the product is quipped with a USB 2.0 port. It comes with the Yocto embedded Linux operating system.
