The 9‑pole AT circular connectors (ATC) meet the J1939‑13 (off-board diagnostic connector) specification. J1939 is a CAN-based higher-layer protocol. The connectors are used for diagnostics of vehicle engine speed, temperature, oil temperature, and exhaust emissions. They are environmentally sealed against moisture and contaminants. The reverse bayonet coupling design allows for quick mating and unmating. The receptacles can withstand more than 100 mating cycles. The Rohs-compliant connectors are made from copper alloy. Nickel and gold plating are available. The operating temperature can range from -55 °C to +125 °C. The ATC series also includes the 3‑pole and 5‑pole connectors.
