Starter kit with two CAN channels

Embedded Artists (Sweden) offers the LPC2129 CAN Quickstart Board. The kit comprises NXP’s ARM-7 micro-controller (LPC2129) as well as two CAN transceivers (TJA1040 or TJA1041). The product is available for 55 €.

THE SWEDISH COMPANY FOUNDED IN THE YEAR OF 2000 was from the beginning focused on micro-controllers from NXP. Located in Malmö, the company serves customers in more than 70 countries with starter kits and evaluation boards as well as target systems. A network of 22 distributors represents the company outside of Sweden.

The starter kit with two CAN channels features 256 KiB of flash memory and 16 KiB of RAM. The product comes with a preloaded test program. It verifies that the board operates correctly.

This includes the correct operation of the CAN interfaces.
The downloading of application support is done via the EIA-232 interface. The company also provides design services or modification of the existing boards. The starter kit comes with application examples and a pre-emptive real-time operating system (RTOS) – delivered as binary package.

The LPCXpresso board is another product by the Swedish company supporting CAN connectivity. It comprises the LPC11C24 micro-controller from NXP (Cortex M0 compliant). The target board is combined with a JTAG debugger and comes with an Eclipse-based IDE (integrated development environment) from NXP. The CAN signals are available on the footprint of the 9-pin D-sub connector, which is not mounted. The price for the board with 32 KiB flash memory and 8 KiB RAM is 20 €, the related kit costs 102 €.
