American Industrial Systems has released a family of vehicle mounted operator control panels. The computers and HMIs feature wireless connectivity and for control and communication ISO 11783, J1939, and CAN.
THE TOUCHSCREEN INTERFACE OFFERS A SUNLIGHT-READABLE DISPLAY for outdoor applications and it enables data input even with gloved and protected hands. With a dustproof IP65-rated aluminum housing, the computer withstands vibration and shock. An operating temperature range of -25 °C to 55 °C makes it suitable for aerospace, maritime, industrial automation, and medical equipment. The computer features an Intel Atom Dual Core D2550 processor, 802.11a/b/g WLAN, and Windows 7, allowing real-time processing. The computers are available with 8,4-inch or 10,4-inch displays and offer 1,86 GHz, 10 W thermal design power, with 4-GiB memory, Intel Hyper-Threading Technology, and Intel 64 architecture.
The in-vehicle mounted touchscreens are made for fleet management, smart warehousing, logistics, transportation and other harsh environments.
With wireless connectivity and warehouse management application, the computers aim to help warehouse, production, and logistics managers to achieve visibility and keep their production line moving – from raw materials, to material tracking, to finished goods. The operator interfaces might also deliver fleet management visualization solutions. The computers will give transportation and logistics companies the ability to track vehicle locations, monitor driving speeds, and patterns. Greater control, monitoring and communications capabilities can help increase the safety of drivers and cargo, thereby decreasing insurance costs.
