The TRY54 multifunction joystick from Megatron was developed for operation of heavy-duty applications. It comes with up to 10 million movement cycles.
The handling minimizes the risk of operating errors, said the company. Due to its installation depth of less than 60 mm, the joystick can be integrated into construction machines or forklifts, for example, where space is usually limited. The company assembles the functional units individually on request: Up to eight buttons can be integrated into the front panel of the joystick, as well as thumbwheels, mini joysticks, LEDs or knobs.
The product has been designed to meet the technical requirements and features a CAN-based J1939 interface used in commercial vehicles. Redundant, non-contact Hall sensors are provided. The joystick is SIL-2 compliant and therefore suitable for functional safe systems.
The multifunction joystick also features a dead man's lever and a trigger switch, which can be assigned further functions. All actions can be performed with one hand, without changing hands. This reduces the risk of operator fatigue and errors.
