Automotive Testing Expo 2017
Kvaser has pre-released the Hybrid 2xCAN/LIN board. It provides two network interface ports. The user can select CAN or LIN.
Unlike conventional solutions, which require a dedicated interface for each network technology, the Hybrid 2xCAN/LIN allows connections to CAN and LIN networks. Designed primarily for automotive engineers in development, production, through to field-use, each channel can be assigned to use one of the mentioned protocols.
The product features a USB connector and two separate 9-pin D-sub connectors. This device can be used as a dual-channel interface to connect two high-speed CAN networks to a PC or mobile computer, or configured to connect to two LIN networks, or one LIN and one CAN network.
The interface boards features galvanic isolation. It is supplied with CANlib and LINlib software APIs (application programming interfaces). This is common to all hardware products by the supplier. The product also supports CAN FD and was shown at the Automotive Testing Expo 2017 in Stuttgart, Germany. The interface board can be also used in CANopen, Devicenet, J1939, and NMEA 2000 networks.
