The PCAN-PCI Express module by Peak-System (Germany) provides up to four CAN channels. All cards have a galvanic isolation of up to 500 V, separately for each CAN port.
FOR THE OPERATION OF EXTERNAL DEVICES a 5-Volt supply can optionally be routed to pin 1 of the CAN connector by setting solder bridges on the PCIe card, independently for each CAN port. The CAN interface is realized by means of an FPGA implementing an SJA1000 compatible CAN controller and the PCA82C251 CAN transceiver by NXP. The transceiver is conformant to ISO 11898-2. The 9-pin D-sub connectors use a pinning as specified in CiA 102/CiA 303-1. The product can operate in temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C.
Like all CAN interfaces of the PCAN series, the four-channel board comes with the CAN monitor PCAN-View for Windows and the programming interface PCAN-Basic.
Device drivers are available for Windows 7/Vista/XP and Linux, each in 32-bit and 64-bit editions.
