Transmitting fuel level signals

The FuelCAN interface from Murphy (USA) translates analog fuel level sender signals into digital J1939 CAN data. It is compatible with the Murphy ES series and other fuel level senders.

THE DEVICE ALLOWS THE INTEGRATION of regular senders into J1939/CAN engine instrument and control systems. The modules have three inputs, only one of which is connected at any one time. Input one is configured for the use with the Murphy ES series resistive fuel level senders. Inputs two and three can be used with fuel level senders having compatible resistance ranges.

FuelCAN inputs can also be factory-configured for the use with other types of fuel level or resistive senders. A rear-facing LED indicates the input/CAN status. The product can be incorporated into wiring harnesses, but can also be surface-mounted via four holes. The polycarbonate case is sealed in epoxy resin for impact and environmental resistance. The IP65-rated device comes with an operating voltage of 7 VDC to 35 VDC, a current consumption of 25 mA, an operating temperature of – 20 °C to +85 °C, and case dimensions of 100 mm x 25 mm x 15 mm.
