12 modules for I/O device

Including one with CAN connectivity

Wago expanded its I/O module portfolio for its XTR device. They are suitable for applications with high-temperature and vibration and provide immunity to impulse voltages and electromagnetic interferences.

The XTR modules are primarily used in the control and distribution cabinets of outdoor applications, mobile systems (such as trains and streetcars), as well as in the renewable energy and process industries. The recently introduced 12 modules joining Wago‘s (Germany) 750 XTR I/O-System include analog/digital inputs and outputs, function and technology modules, modules with CAN communication capability, as well as supply and segment modules.

Advantages for the automation and heavy industries are the added application solution possibilities via module functions such as counter, SSI, incremental encoder, CAN gateway, and power supply with fuse holder. The modules also meet railway system requirements and provide universal connection possibilities for conductors up to 2,5 mm2.

The 12 modules seamlessly integrate into the Wago-I/O-System 750 XTR, which performs in an extended temperature range of -40 °C to +70 °C without additional air conditioning. System vibration resistance also defies acceleration forces up to 5 g. With its immunity to impulse voltages and electromagnetic interference, the system is also a fit with medium-voltage systems.

Mounting CAN modules onto the I/O device allows realizing bridge and switch functionality. These cascaded CAN network segments increase the number of I/O ports and separate them from the CAN network segment, to which the I/O device is connected.
