THE CAN FD CORE can be integrated into integrated circuits (µC or ASIC) that require CAN connectivity. The IP core will be upgraded to ISO 11898-1:2015 when the standard is finalized this year. It provides an AHB-Lite slave interface for connecting to the host controller with the option of APB and it supports a 32-bit interface. Arasan is also developing a CAN FD transceiver compliant to ISO 11898-2:2016 and it will be available as an analog hard macro later in 2015.

The IP core package is available immediately for licensing. It consists of tested, silicon‐verified IP cores, a testbench, portable software stacks, and hardware development platforms. “Our long history of providing IP Solutions to Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers made CAN FD a natural extension”, said Prakash Kamath, CTO of Arasan Chip Systems.

The company is a provider of IP packages for mobile and the next generation of applications from home to automobile. The US company’s products include digital IP cores, analog PHY interfaces, verification IP, hardware verification kits, protocol analyzers, software stacks and drivers, and optional customization services for.
