TWK (Germany) has added the NVA/S3 to its family of inclinometers and vibration sensors. It is able to output a safe vibration value between 0,1 Hz and 60 Hz via CANopen Safety or analog output.
Two safety-certified switching contacts can turn off the application in case the vibration limits are exceeded. The calculation of the acceleration’s frequency spectrum via Fourier analysis will be added in the future. The sensor measures in three axes. Six factory-adjustable frequency ranges are available from 0,1 Hz to 60 Hz. They allow dedicated filtering of vibrations. The measuring range is ±2°.
With CANopen Safety, a secure interface is available. With two analog outputs of 4 mA to 20 mA and two safety relays switching outputs, the sensor reaches SIL-2 requirements. The aluminum housing with two M12 plug connectors has a protection class of IP67. Preferred areas of application are, for example, wind turbines.
The company will show the sensor besides some other products at the Hanover Fair 2016 in hall 9, booth D58.
