CANopen inclinometer

Ready for mobile automation

Kuebler has added an inclinometer series to its product portfolio. The IN88 series is made for outdoor use in mobile automation and comes with CANopen.

Horizontal position measurement for a fire truck basket, a truck crane or a tower crane, vehicle leveling for agricultural and forestry machinery, dynamic measurement of the elevation angle of the distributing boom on construction machinery for tunnel and mining: these are the applications where inclinometers are required. The IN88 inclinometer series by Kuebler comes with protection level IP67 and IP69k, a temperature range of -40 °C up to +85 °C, and a shock resistance up to 110 g and vibration resistance up to 10 g. This ensures trouble-free outdoor use, which is suited for mobile automation and for long-term use.

The inclinometers allow measuring 2-dimensional inclinations of ±85° or 1-dimensional inclinations up to 360°. Their resolution reaches 0,01° and an absolute accuracy of ±0,4° is possible at a temperature of 25 °C. The measuring principle is capacitive or MEMS.

Filter settings are individually parameterizable via CANopen, which allows adapting the inclinometers to applications. CANopen belongs to the usual interfaces in mobile automation. The inclinometers are available in the variants with one M12 connector or with two M12 connectors. Supply voltage is 10 VDC to 30 VDC. A further variant with analog output is planned. Due to their flat construction with a size of 80 mm x 60 mm x 23 mm, these inclinometers are easy to mount, and they can be stacked on each other for use as a redundant solution. These inclinometers are E1 and UL certified.
