SPS IPC Drives 2016
At this year's SPS IPC Drives exhibition, Lika Electronic demonstrates the company's latest encoders and advanced measuring solutions for industrial automation. Many of these employ CANopen.
Among the products on display at the Lika stand at the SPS IPC will be the range of Easy-CAN absolute encoders, the CANopen IXB/IXC series inclinometers, and the SFA CANopen absolute draw wire encoders. They are suited for dependable and accurate operation in severe industrial environments such as mobile equipment, construction vehicles, material handling, mobile cranes, excavators, shovels, bucket trucks, forklifts, agricultural machinery, and equipment. To cope with such harsh environmental conditions, they are robust and capable of withstanding dirt, moisture, vibration, shock, and temperature fluctuations. Furthermore, they provide high levels of reliability, performance, and accuracy and improve the overall efficiency, communication, and safety.
For boom rotation and lifting (pitch) angle measurement, Easy-CAN series encoders are a cost-effective solution thanks to the standalone application and the simple point-to-point integration. They are suitable for single master/single slave networks and profit from all CAN benefits and the compact design. A single connection cable and simplified electronics minimize the overall footprint and costs and ease installation especially in constrained space. They comply with CiA 301 and CiA 406 Class 2 profiles and include the whole packet of CANopen functions: position and velocity readout, scaling function, preset, software limit switches, extended diagnostics, etc.
The encoders are sturdy with their IP67 protection rate (IP65 at shaft side) and offer the complete Ø 58-mm industrial flange and shaft options: 6 mm, 8 mm, 9,52 mm, 10 mm, 11 mm, 12 mm solid shaft, and 14 mm, 15 mm hollow shaft. Easy-CAN series encoders are available with 13- and 18-bit single-turn resolution as well as with 24-bit, 25-bit, 26-bit, 27-bit, and 30-bit multi-turn resolution. Output connection can be either radial or axial for both cable and M12 connector options.
IXB and IXC series 1-axis and 2-axis absolute inclinometers are equipped with a CANopen interface in compliance with CiA 301 and CiA 410 profiles. They monitor the leveling of vehicles, platforms and buckets during operation (roll) and the pitch angle in the crane booms as well as rotational movements to enhance the safety and prevent accidents due to wrong maneuvers and overturning. They are compact, rugged and IP67-protected. The robust metal enclosure and the resin-coated electronics allow for high protection against mechanical stresses, vibrations, moisture, and thermal shocks (-40 °C to +85 °C).
Their measurement range is from ±5° up to ±60° in 2-axis models and 0° to 360°/±180° in 1-axis models. IXB is the high-performance model offering programmable 1-axis and 2-axis operation along with high resolution up to 0.001° and high accuracy up to typically ±0,05°. The IXC model is available in either single (IXC1) or dual (IXC2) axis versions with medium accuracy values (±0,2°) in the same resolution range. They further add complete diagnostics, programmable anti-vibration filter, and an optional temperature compensation feature to highly reduce the thermal drift (0,002°/°C – IXB model only). Cable and M12 connector options are both available (further automotive connectors on demand). IX series inclinometers are also offered with current (4 mA to 20 mA) and voltage (0,5 V to 4,5 V) analog outputs.
SFA-5000/SFA-10000 is the series of absolute cable-pulling encoders suited for applications such as outriggers, stabilizing slides, telescopic cranes, and booms. The cable-pulling mechanism is able to reach measuring lengths up to 5000 mm and 10 000 mm and still remains compact and integral. The enclosure provides IP65 protection and allows for operating temperatures between -40 °C and +85 °C. SFA cable-pulling encoders are aimed at reliable operation in dynamic systems with speeds up to 2 m/s. They come with CANopen interface in compliance with CiA 301 and CiA 406 Class 2 profiles and implement a set of information and configuration parameters: position and velocity readout, full scaling with resolution programmable up to 0,024 mm (24 μm), preset, code sequence, extensive diagnostics, bus network settings. To complement the series, SFA draw wire encoders are also offered with Ethernet and fieldbus interfaces as well as in a user-friendly analog absolute version settable via buttons, in a SSI version, and in a SFE-programmable incremental version.
