Single-turn encoder

Hall-effect sensor without shaft

The GRN rotary absolute encoder by Gefran is especially suitable for mobile hydraulics application. It features a CANopen or J1939 interface.

The Italian manufacturer provides a range of CANopen products for mobile hydraulics. This includes several linear position transducers, encoders, and inclinometers as well as pressure sensors and load cells. Applications include forklift, tele-handler, scissor-lift, and aerial working platforms.

The GRN single-turn encoders with CANopen or J1939 interface use a contactless hall sensor. It comes in an IP67-rated enclosure. Higher-rated housing (IP68 and IP69K) are available, too. The maximal speed is 120 rotations per minute. The 14-bit resolution is specified for both CAN versions – with CANopen or J1939 software. Because the product is intended for heavy-duty vehicles, it can work up to 50-g shocks and withstands vibrations up to 20 g in the range from 20 Hz to 2 kHz. The specified temperature range is -40 °C to +85 °C.
