Laumas (Italy) has introduced the LCBCANopen digitizer. It transforms an analog load cell (output mV/V) into digital and can also be used on existing load cells or strain gauge sensors.
Designed for an assembly/wiring integral with the load cell body, the launched product can be connected via CANopen to PLCs of the most important international brands, said the Italian supplier. It is ready for IoT (Internet of Things). Based on this approach, sensors must be able to exchange and communicate as much information as possible, in order to keep plants and machines under control. The CANopen device is compatible with any kind of load cell or strain gauge sensor already present on the market with output mV/V and standard ¼ GAS connection. On request specific adapters are provided for coupling the various threads of the cell.
The 37,5 mm x 80 mm x 53 mm product comes in a IP67-rated junction box made of stainless steel AISI 316 with special waterproof connectors, suitable to be installed even in aggressive environments. The possibility to perform calibration, inputs, and outputs setting and calibration data storage via PC software is included in the supply. Calibration with sample weights and linearization up to five points are possible.
The weighing system is free from electrical or electromagnetic interferences. It allows the installation of the cell without cable, with no need to follow any particular requirements and eliminating problems due to the distance between the load cell and the host controller. Three IP67-rated M12 flying connectors are included in the supply. A direct connection between EIA-485 and EIA-232 without converter is also featured.
