With auto-adaptive extended Kalmar filter

Lord Sensing (USA) has developed the MV5-AR device, which measures dynamically inclination, acceleration, and angular rate. It is intended for commercial vehicles.

The measurement range of the sensor is 360° respectively ±10 g. The auto-adaptive extended Kalman filter removes measurement errors associated with vibration, sudden linear motions, and quake. This results in a true reading of inclination under all conditions. The product also compensates temperature changes. The calibration assures error-free performance over the operational temperature range. Of -40 °C to +85 °C. The sensor sizes 80 mm x 55 mm x 24 mm.

The product features a 9-V to 36-V power range and consumes 350 mW. The IP67/IP69K-rated enclosure allows using it in heavy-duty construction, off-highway, agriculture, and trucking vehicles. The sensor provides a 250-kbit/s J1939 interface to integrate it into in-vehicle networks.
