Pressure transmitter with CANopen and J1939

Wika Alexander Wiegand (Germany) introduced the MHC-1 pressure transmitter supporting CANopen and J1939 higher-layer protocols. The transmitter is dedicated for mobile hydraulic applications such as construction and agricultural machinery, industrial trucks, and cranes.

THE INSTRUMENT IS INTENDED FOR SEVEN MEASURING RANGES beginning from 0 bar to 60 bar up to versions for 0 bar to 1000 bar, and offers an accuracy lower than 0,5 % of span. For CANopen versions, the CiA 404 device profile for measuring devices and closed-loop controllers is supported. Bit-rates from 20 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s may be configured. To simplify installation, the sensor can be ordered pre-configured with bit-rate of 250 kbit/s and node-ID of 1 as well as further default features as specified in CiA 301 and CiA 404. The device supports synchronous PDO (process data object) transmission types. Electrical connection of the device is done with the circular 5-pin M12 connector using the pin-assignment as recommended in the CiA 303-1. The version with an integrated Y-connector is available.
Easycom CANopen communication software may be downloaded from company's website. System requirements are the support of one of the following operating systems: Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista, or Windows 7.
In mobile hydraulics, the IP6K9K-protected sensor is exposed to extreme operating conditions. To ensure its long-term reliability, all requirement parameters were simulated in a specific test program. The sensor works at temperatures from -40 °C to +85 °C and offers up to 100-V/m EMC protection. The device may be powered with 10 VDC to 30 VDC consuming less than 40 mA.
