The CAN FD-capable VBA9000 vehicle bus analyzer by Teledyne Lecroy comes with the HD1024 technology, which provides a 10-bit vertical resolution with a 4-GHz bandwidth.

The 15,4-inch capacitive touch screen lets users operate the oscilloscope just like a phone or tablet. Equipped with a 40-Gsample/s rate and a toolbox including analysis packages for CAN, CAN FD, LIN, and Flexray the tool provides the ability to completely debug the in-vehicle networks.

The company’s HD1024 technology enables reconfiguration of the a/d converter to achieve a 10-bit vertical resolution. The device automatically determines the best a/d converter configuration under each specific measurement condition. The a/d converter can be set to 8-bit, 9-bit, or 10-bit configurations. The HD1024 technology makes use of filtering to provide additional resolution beyond 10 bit; extending up to 13,8 bit. When operating in low sample rate conditions, an anti-aliasing filter is automatically applied to reduce the out-of-band noise. Additionally, the resolution can be improved by applying a manual bandwidth limit on an individual channel.
