SPS IPC Drives
At this year’s SPS IPC Drives, ISG Industrielle Steuerungstechnik shows its simulation system ISG-virtuos. The engineering platform enables the realization of chained plants. Control and simulation can be connected via CANopen.
THE ENGINEERING PLATFORM HAS BEEN EXTENDED with multiple tools, which enable the realization of chained plants including robots and material flow. Furthermore, it is now possible to implement tailor-made solutions for software regression tests and control real time applications. At the booth, visitors can also get information on various best practice solutions of ISG-virtuos clients and co-operation partners.
ISG-virtuos is a solution for the implementation of controls with fieldbusses on virtual machines and plants in control real time. It tests modules and single machines as well as complex production plants with a number of different controls. In the latest version, processes can – thanks to motion libraries – be tested during the concept phase and serve as a basis for the implementation within the respective control systems. Enabled by interfaces such as CAN, TCP/IP, UDP as well as analog and digital signals, it is possible to realize tailor-made test systems for vast software regression tests. Users can develop their own modules for realtime applications and drive automation components via fieldbus systems.
The connection between control and simulation is established via fieldbus systems and is thus independent of the respective control manufacturer. Currently CANopen, Ethercat, and Ethernet are among fieldbusses that can be used.
„We notice that simulation technology in realtime more and more establishes in the market“, says Dr.-Ing. Christian Daniel, Business Manager simulation technology at ISG. „Alongside Europe’s seven most important machine tool producers already using ISG-virtuos, more and more SMEs ask for simulation in realtime.” Daniel continues. „To ensure that users can take advantage of the engineering platform in a growing amount of branches even more efficiently and fully exploit the time and cost savings, we set great value on keeping access in this technology simple.“ The SPS IPC Drives takes place from November 24 to 26, 1015 in Nuremberg.
