Model-based E/E development

Preevision 7.5 provides users with expanded Autosar support. When designing CAN FD networks according to J1939, users benefit from the model-based E/E development.

Preevision 7.5 is the latest version of the Preevision software from Vector Informatik (Germany). It supports the ability to develop network communication for commercial vehicles according to J1939. When designing CAN FD networks according to J1939, users benefit from the simplified model-based E/E development for commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, and construction and farm machinery.

The J1939-based ISO standard 11783 for communication between a tractor and its add-on equipment for example, is supported. Isobus 11783 supports a unified control of additional equipment from the cockpit of the tractor. Further J1939 features are the import and export of J1939 designs via DBC and Autosar, extended multiplexing for CAN, modeling of controller applications, and Autosar-compliant software and hardware network design. Project partners can exchange data during development using the associated import and export functions for DBC and Autosar. The import and export portfolio has been expanded to include Autosar 4.2.1. In addition, communication descriptions for CAN FD can be exported in Autosar format. The release also supports the Autosar Admin Data and SDG concepts.

For processing large data quantities, the current release has a Reload function, which allows users to describe and use data relevant to them faster and more efficiently. The implemented change history supports collaboration in distributed teams. With change marking, users can reliably recognize all changes in the model. This enables evaluation of work on the data and tracking a project's progress.

The efficiency gain from the use of Preevision results from the integrated modeling of E/E systems. This begins with the definition of requirements and customer functions and continues with the logical architecture level and the hardware and software level including Autosar support and culminates with the development of the wiring harness.

Preevision now supports the Autosar software component template. Missing event types and artifacts to model internal behavior of software components have been added. Further Autosar features are: import and export for Autosar 4.2.1 and customizable exports beyond ECU and system extract, e.g. for bus or communication-based Autosar extracts. Extended consistency checks for compliant modeling are also included.
