CAN data logger for automotive testing

Fleetlog2 is the advanced version of Ipetronik's (Germany) fleet data logger Fleetlog. The basic data logger model can be customized and extended by up to four CAN measurement inputs.

OTHER EXTENSIONS INCLUDE ADDITIONAL HARDWARE and software options, some of which are multiple storage groups, protocol and traffic measurement, classification, fleet management, as well as some wireless options like integrated Wifi client, modem and GPS component. The data logger meets road trial requirements in the automotive and commercial vehicle sector covering individual test requirements as well as those of fleet testing.

The logger collects vehicle data, processes them online and saves them to an exchangeable CompactFlash card of up to 32 GiB. In addition, it is possible to define different storage groups and trigger conditions. Optional CAN protocols are CCP, XCPonCAN, KWPonCAN, UDS, J1939 or OBD II. Data is exchanged using USB or LAN. Data exchange using GPRS/UMTS/3G and/or Wlan 802.11 b/g are available depending on integrated hardware options. The logger provides the option of an integrated GPS receiver for position determination via satellite.

The data logger runs the RTOS-32 real-time operating system fitted with the acquisition software TESTdrive. Further features are two digital inputs and two digital outputs as well as power management via WakeonCAN function. The transfer of online acquisition data to IPEmotion, ETAS INCA, Vector CANape and many more software applications occurs by means of CAN or XCPonETH. The Windows software IPEmotion allows a definition of all the settings related to the acquisition configuration. Using the LOG2PC function, users can exchange and visualize acquisition and configuration data via LAN. In the same way, data acquisition can be configured online and remote measurement start/stop can be performed using a PC.

The logger features dimensions of 141 mm x 37 mm x 180 mm and IP54 protection class. The operating temperature range is -40 °C to +85 °C. A supply voltage in the range of 9 VDC to 36 VDC is required. The power input lies typically at 7,5 W. The enclosure has no rotating mechanical parts, such as fans or hard disks. All CAN, LAN and digital inputs and outputs are galvanically isolated from each other. Operating elements and plug-in modules like SIM card or CompactFlash are located behind a protecting flap. Plug connections are compatible with M-LOG PR08 and Ipelog data loggers.
